Surface Preparation Requirements for Outdoor Fire Retardant Paint Application on Steel Structures

1. Primer System Application
   • After sandblasting, steel surfaces must be coated with a compatible anti-corrosion primer system. We specifically recommend the “Jinyu” brand epoxy zinc-rich primer combined with epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate coat to ensure proper adhesion with the outdoor fire retardant paint for steel.
   • Both primer and intermediate coats must form a continuous, defect-free film to completely seal the substrate, preventing potential delamination of the fireproof coating and steel corrosion.
2. Kompatibilitetstest för alternativa primrar
   • When using other primer systems, comprehensive compatibility testing must be conducted either by certified laboratories or through on-site brush-out tests to verify proper bonding with the weather-resistant fireproof coating.

   • Never apply the outdoor fire resistant paint directly onto:

Application Guide:

1. Base Layer (Textured):
   • Mix STI-C powder : adhesive = 2:1, add water, and spray to 1–3mm thickness. Cure for 24h.
2. Main Coating:
   • Mix STI-C powder : water = 1:0.8–1.2. Spray in 6–8mm layers (max 0.6m nozzle distance, 0.6–0.8MPa pressure).

   • At ~10mm thickness, embed fiberglass mesh (5–10cm overlap).
4. Miljö:
   • Temperatur: 15-30°C (gränsvärden: 5-35°C).
   • Luftfuktighet: 10–70% (limits: 0–80%).
   • Avoid rain/snow; protect unfinished areas.

Storage & Transport:

• Store in dry, ventilated areas away from sunlight and moisture.
