GT-NSP-Fp2.00-SB-2 is a water-based Indoor Intumescent Fire Retardant Coating for Steel, engineered to deliver superior fire protection with minimal thickness. As an eco-friendly solution, it combines exceptional adhesion, thin-film application, and decorative appeal, making it ideal for safeguarding indoor steel structures in commercial and industrial settings. When exposed to high temperatures, this intumescent fireproof paint expands to form an insulating char layer, effectively delaying heat transfer and structural collapse while maintaining aesthetic integrity.
Key Features & Compliance
This steel fireproof coating meets rigorous fire safety standards (Certifications A & B) and is compatible with epoxy zinc-rich primers and intermediate coatings. Its water-based formula ensures low VOC emissions, aligning with green building requirements. Recommended for steel beams, columns, and trusses, it supports brush or roller application and can be reinforced with alkali-free fiberglass mesh for enhanced durability in critical areas.
Surface Preparation & Application Guidelines
1. Surface Treatment
New Steel Structures: Sandblast to remove rust, then apply an epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate coat.
Galvanized Steel: Must be treated with an epoxy transition coat for adhesion.
Old Steel/Repainted Surfaces: Clean thoroughly; reapply anti-corrosion coating if existing paint is damaged.
Always inspect for dust, oil, cracks, or welding defects before application.
2. Coating Application
Stir with an electric mixer until uniform. If too thick, add ≤5% neutral water.
Apply via brush or roller in crisscross layers (≤0.2mm dry film thickness per layer).
Maintain ambient conditions: 5–35°C, ≤80% humidity.
Allow ≥12 hours between coats. At 1.5mm dry thickness, embed alkali-free fiberglass mesh (5–10cm overlap) for reinforcement.
3. Cautions
Avoid rain, immersion, or direct sunlight during/after application.
No tinting service; use compatible topcoat for color customization.
Transport/store at >0°C (storage temperature >5°C).
Blanda inte with other coatings.
Construction team spraying GT-NSP-FP2.00-SB-2 intumescent fire retardant paint onto steel beams in a 200m-high office tower core, achieving uniform 2.00mm dry film thickness to meet 120-minute fire resistance rating (GB 50016-2014) for critical load-bearing structures. Quality inspection of activated GT-NSP-FP2.00-SB-2 coating after fire test at a metro station, showing 15x foam expansion protecting steel columns, with ultrasonic thickness gauge verifying compliance with EN 13381-8 Class H2 standards for public infrastructure.
