Descrizione
KD-P02 is the matt grade of the same two-component water-based polyurethane finish system. It gives a low-sheen, easy-clean surface with 2H pencil hardness and wear loss of 0.03 g or less, and is specified for food, electronics, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and paper plants, logistics warehouses and basements.
What Is KD-P02 Matte Water-Based Polyurethane Floor Finish?
KD-P02 is the matt finish coat of a water-based polyurethane floor system. It is a two-component product applied by roller over a cured water-based topcoat, and it shares its system build-up with the gloss grade KD-P01. The same material is listed as KD-P02 in the KAIDA floor catalogue and as WPU100 in the site product code.
The finish layer covers 0.05-0.06 kg/m2 inside a total system thickness of 1-3 mm. The matt grade is chosen where reflected light or glare from the floor is a problem, and where scuff marks have to stay inconspicuous.
Why Choose a Matte Finish Instead of a Gloss Floor?
A matt surface that still wipes clean. The film is smooth rather than textured, so it cleans like a gloss floor while reflecting far less light. In food, electronics and pharmaceutical plants this keeps visual inspection easier under overhead lighting.
Bonding strength to the substrate. Adhesive strength is 2 MPa or more, and adhesion by the cross-cut method reaches level 1.
Resistance to general chemical corrosion, which covers the usual spillages and cleaning agents found in food, cosmetics and paper production.
Environmental performance. The product is water-based with a small odour, so production areas can be brought back into service sooner after application.
Two grades, one system. KD-P02 shares the DS-606 base coat, the DS-608 mortar and putty layers and the DS-612 topcoat with the gloss grade, so a site already running the system can add a matt finish without adding a second supply chain.
Which Plants Specify KD-P02?
Food factories, including wet and dry process areas.
Electronics factories and clean assembly areas.
Pharmaceutical plants and cosmetics factories, where the floor has to read as clean and even.
Paper mills, where the floor sees water and fibre dust.
Logistics warehouses and basements, including below-grade areas that stay humid.

What Site Conditions Does KD-P02 Need?
Substrate requirements. Concrete compressive strength of 20 MPa or more, tensile strength of 1.5 MPa or more, and flatness within 4 mm over a 2 m straight edge. The surface stays clean, dry and free of oil, curing compounds and old coatings.
Moisture. Substrate moisture content below 8%. The matt film is air permeable, so a damp substrate does not have to be driven fully dry before the finish coat goes on.
Temperature and humidity. Substrate and ambient temperature both 10-35 degrees C; relative humidity below 80%. Below 10 degrees C, stop work and wait for the temperature to recover.
Working time. Mix in full units and use the mixed material within 60 minutes. Discard material that has visibly thickened.
Return to service. At 25 degrees C, foot traffic after 24 hours and heavy load after 72 hours. Lower temperatures extend both times.
Cleaning. A soft mop with a neutral detergent keeps the matt sheen even. Abrasive pads polish the surface toward gloss, which then shows as a patch under overhead light.
KD-P02 Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the matt finish harder to clean than a gloss floor?
A: No. The film is smooth, not textured, so it wipes clean the same way. Cleaning with a soft mop and neutral detergent also keeps the sheen even.
Q: Where is KD-P02 chosen instead of the gloss grade?
A: Wherever reflected light off the floor is a problem, or where scuff marks have to stay inconspicuous. Typical uses are food, electronics, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and paper plants, logistics warehouses and basements.
Q: Does KD-P02 use the same base coat and topcoat as KD-P01?
A: Yes. Both grades sit on the same system: a DS-606 water-based epoxy base coat, DS-608 mortar and putty layers, and a DS-612 topcoat, finished with the relevant polyurethane grade.
Q: How much KD-P02 is needed per square metre?
A: 0.05-0.06 kg/m2 as the finish layer. Each layer of the system has its own dosage, listed in the system table above.
Q: How soon can a food or pharmaceutical plant go back into production?
A: At 25 degrees C, foot traffic after 24 hours and heavy load after 72 hours. The low odour of the water-based product helps where the area has to be brought back into service quickly.
