In a commercial central kitchen’s production line, from early morning ingredient unloading to late-night cleaning and disinfection, the floor is constantly subjected to high-frequency challenges—water-soaked cleaning areas, oil-dripping cooking stations, and trolley-trafficked distribution channels. The condition of every inch of the flooring impacts both food safety and operational efficiency. KAIDA PAINT JINYU® urethane mortar flooring is designed specifically to address these pain points, making it the preferred upgrade for many commercial kitchens. The following cases from Jiangsu Chengye Catering and Hunan Shengmei Food illustrate its professional adaptability.
01 Reliable Choice for School Meal Central Kitchens | Tile Floor Transformation
Jiangsu Chengye Catering, a central kitchen supplying schools, must accurately prepare and deliver thousands of meals daily. This requires flooring with extremely high standards of hygiene and wear resistance. The original tile flooring posed problems: grout lines trapped dirt, and frequent exposure to water, oil, ingredients, cleaning, and trolley movement led to hollowing, cracking, and bacterial growth. This made it difficult to meet strict school meal standards.

Before and After Comparison
To address these issues, we designed an MF 4mm waterborne urethane mortar flooring system for Chengye Catering. The 4mm thickness provides sufficient load-bearing capacity and wear resistance while ensuring efficient installation, minimizing disruption to meal preparation. The system’s outstanding chemical resistance allows it to withstand daily exposure to acidic and alkaline disinfectants used in cleaning. Moreover, its seamless structure eliminates hidden gaps where dirt and microbes can accumulate, strengthening food safety compliance for highly sensitive environments like school meal production.
02 Multi-Functional Central Kitchen | Flooring Upgrade for Shengmei Food
Hunan Shengmei Food specializes in meat pre-processing and operates a multi-functional commercial central kitchen with diverse zoning requirements. The original terrazzo flooring was slippery, posing ongoing safety risks and operational challenges.

Before and After Comparison
KAIDA PAINT JINYU® implemented a zone-specific solution for Shengmei Food’s commercial kitchen. In areas with frequent water exposure, such as ingredient washing and thermal processing zones, we installed the UD 6mm urethane motar floor system, which offers a slip resistance rating of R13. This provides reliable traction even when the floor is wet, effectively eliminating slip hazards.
This case also highlights the necessity of upgrading traditional terrazzo flooring in commercial kitchens. Terrazzo is prone to dusting, cracking, and becoming slippery under constant moisture and high temperatures. In contrast, polyurethane mortar flooring bonds strongly with the substrate, offering a durable, non-slip, and easy-to-clean surface that meets the stringent hygiene and safety demands of a commercial kitchen.

As the core of industrial food production, central kitchens require flooring systems that meet increasingly strict standards of standardization, safety, and efficiency. KAIDA PAINT JINYU® waterborne polyurethane mortar flooring—with its proven performance, tailored MF systems, and scenario-specific UD systems—perfectly addresses these core needs.
Looking ahead, KAIDA PAINT JINYU® contractor will continue to advance within the food industry, offering professional expertise and customized flooring solutions to help commercial kitchens achieve safe, compliant, and high-performance flooring foundations.
